Playing to their hometown crowd, They Might Be Giants opened up for thmselves on January 27, masquerading tongue-in-cheek as a TMBG cover band named Saphire Bullets ("The only tribute band that matters!")

Eventually, the lines would stretch down the street and the crowds would fill the Irving Plaza ballroom to capacity, but at 6:00 p.m., there were only a few of us waiting to gain entrance.
