Christine strikes an elaborate pose on the Purple Train at Kinnickinnic State Park.

Christine stands near a large tree on the Purple Trail at Kinnickinnic State Park.

Christine examines wild raspberries growing to the side of the Yellow Trail at Kinnickinnic State Park. These wide, groomed trails are easy to walk along and make for a leisurely hike- even for the oldest and fartest of old farts.

A wooden bench carved from a tree trunk lies to the side of a steep paved trail that leads to a swimming area along the east bank of the St. Croix River at Kinnickinnic State Park.

The Yellow Train at Kinnickinnic State Park loops around a prairie area where flowers and other native groundcover and foliage grows in the wild.

Still in the prairie near the Yellow Trail at Kinnickinnic State Park.

This farm is only one example of the lush green fields one sees as they drive along the St. Croix River in western Wisconsin. It appears this field is being used to grow beets. Many of the nearby farms also grow corn.

Here, we stand on the beach at the swimming area at Kinnickinnic State Park. The St. Croix River is behind us. On the other side, of course is the Minnesota bank of the river.

Another photo of the wide St. Croix river.
